Hey guys, you may be asking yourself this question, do backlinks really Improve SEO rankings?

What you need to ask your questions, are the links going to drive any traffic to your website?

The way I see it, is why would you worry about backlinks, if they do not drive any traffic? You see if you create online content for example on social media such as x (Twitter), Facebook or YouTube, if these website drive traffic to your niche or blog, then that's extra traffic.

I mean, if your blog is good enough other people will automatically link to your website, right?

And if no one does link to your website, even after all those years that you have spent blogging on your blog or website, what is going on? You should be asking yourself few questions such as;

Sometimes there could be different underlying issues, which you will need to consider, if you check my 34 points and work on all of them, that could take some time, of course these are just my recommendations from my personal experience as blogger and content creator for the last 15 years.

Example

Saying that, backlinks density to your website is also important for SERP rankings. Let say there are around 50 related niches blogs linking to one of your products or freebies you're giving away.

For example, if you made a coffee cup called "coffee rotating mug by John S"

And considering that all those 50 blogs are linking to your rotating coffee article. Your blog post article will most likely rank 1st if anyone types that keyword inside the Google Search Engine "coffee rotating mug by John S". This is just an example, please do not google that, haha.

But yes, I think you get the point!

If you are a creator of any freebie, or showcasing information that no one else holds, and you're the first to create such content, you will probably rank near the top for your unique keywords.

This is from my personal experience.

Of course blogging about 3rd party products and services, is totally the same, if you provide enough information you can also rank near the top. Based on your website's rankings and authority overall.

So in my point of view, yes backlinks are very important, when it comes to growth and domain authority rankings.

Types of Backlinks That Help in Improving Rankings:

Basically, all links may be considered as backlinks. Yet, some of them are more effective and powerful than others:

  1. Relevant to the Page: Start by searching for pages that are related to your content and link to them in your webpage.
  2. Indexed Sites: This means that the site is listed in search engines and those are the ones you should be referencing. It's because linking to sites that are not listed will be of no value, since search engines can't recognize them.
  3. The Authority of Sites: When you insert links of high authority with search engines, then they will have a better positive impact on your SEO compared to when using unknown sites that are of low quality.
  4. Do Follow: All links are do-follow by default, however, some users sometimes apply a no-follow tag that requires the search engines to ignore the links.

You can also do outreach backlinks, where you ask similar niches within your similar niche, and websites which rank near the top of Google and ask them if they could add link to your website on certain topics related to yours. But this can be quite hard since most bloggers will big websites will most likely turn you away, provide a silly fee, or simply take you as their competitor and turn you away.

So gaining organic backlinks is the best way to start off, make good content and other bloggers should start linking back to you.

I wish you best of luck when it comes to link building, it can take some time, but once your niche gains enough momentum you should start seeing other websites and niches linking back to your website or blog.

It will take some time, but all be worth it in the end!

Keep blogging guys!
